47TH ANNUAL POWWOW - 2026

THE PROJECT

BUILDING A DIGITAL HOME FOR SACRED GROUNDS

The Tallbull Group needed a web presence worthy of their mission — one that could communicate the gravity of cultural preservation, land stewardship, and community gathering to both Indigenous community members and outside supporters.

We built their site on Squarespace, designing around their established visual identity: deep earth tones, warm orange, and bold typography that honors the weight of what they do. The site covers their four core pillars — Cultural Preservation, Community Gatherings, Youth Outreach, and Community Bridges — alongside The Grounds, Events, and a Support page for donations.

Alongside the website, we designed three distinct t-shirts for their 47th Annual Welcome Home Powwow — each with a different aesthetic approach to serve different audiences at the event.

APPAREL DESIGN

47TH ANNUAL WELCOME HOME POWWOW SHIRTS (FIRST DRAFTS)

DESIGN 01 · WHITE

POWWOW SEASON

Circular emblem design with mountain landscape, dancers, and traditional border patterns. 2026 Welcome Home Pow Wow Season — classic and collectible.

DESIGN 02 · BLACK

WELCOME HOME DANCER

Bold graphic featuring a full-regalia dancer with turquoise geometric patterns. "Tall Bull Memorial Park" — modern, athletic, high-energy. The statement piece of the collection.

DESIGN 03 · WHITE

CHIEF PORTRAIT

A vintage-style photographic portrait print — a mounted chief in full headdress. Timeless, reverent, and rooted in the historical depth the Tallbull Group is committed to honoring.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

TALLBULL GROUP

The Tallbull Group is a Native-led nonprofit operating out of Tallbull Grounds — 176 acres of sacred land in Denver, Colorado, established in 2025. Named in honor of the Tallbull family legacy, the organization is committed to four pillars of cultural work.

Their 47th Annual Welcome Home Powwow, held September 5–6 at Tallbull Grounds, is one of the most significant gatherings they host — bringing together drummers, dancers, community members, and guests from across the region to celebrate, preserve, and pass on the powwow tradition.

CULTURAL PRESERVATION

Safeguarding the traditions, languages, and ceremonies of American Indian people for generations to come.

COMMUNITY GATHERINGS

Hosting and growing the powwow tradition — the drum, the dance, and the gathering — as it has always been.

YOUTH OUTREACH

Connecting Indigenous youth to their heritage through education, mentorship, art, and ceremony on sacred land.

COMMUNITY BRIDGES

Closing cultural gaps through shared experience, education, and mutual respect between all communities.
